Woke up, took the train to Vienna. It was a nice ride through a valley filled with Bavarian style houses and old decaying castles. We arrived in the late afternoon and found our hostel easily. After telling the receptionist that we were interested in booking an extra night, she upgraded our room to an apartment for no extra charge. There must not have been further availability in the room we had booked. It was awesome; we had an extremely spacious room in a separate building with a full kitchen and bathroom as well as small balconies. By this time it was late afternoon and we were quite famished after skipping lunch so we headed out to get some grub. We went to the Loving Hut, a vegan restaurant chain that is owned by a cult; we weren’t impressed. On our way back, we stopped at a grocery store to get breakfast supplies. A bit later in the evening we headed to the hostel bar’s happy hour. There we met Esteban, an energetic and enthusiastic guy from Argentina who is also on a similar 3 month trip. We ended up talking for hours; it was quite nice.
