Today we had a great spinach Florentine breakfast at a local bistro, then walked to downtown Liverpool. We made sure to pass the Anglican cathedral on the way, and goodness is it huge! It is apparently the largest Anglican cathedral and comes in as the second longest and 5th most voluminous cathedral in the world. It took more than 50 years to build in its entirety. There is another picture of the inside at the end of this post to give you a sense of the size inside.
We then walked downtown and explored the canning district and the docks, as well as the Three Graces and town hall. We briefly explored the Liverpool museum but didn’t see too much that caught our eye (at least compared to museums like the British National Gallery). Later in the day with met up with our CouchSurfing host Matthew at a local pub where we also got to meet some local Liverpoolians and got to see the local character.
