Day 4 – The National Gallery

    Ramblin' Wedells

    Day 4

Today we began our day by watching the changing of the guards. We arrived about a half hour early and the entire area was already packed with people. At 11:30, some guards marched by with a small band. A policeman on a horse told us to wait  around for  the  final marching out  of the guards, because we would have a good view at that time. We kept waiting for it to get interesting, but it never did.

We then walked through Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar  square. We grabbed lunch at a pub in the Chinatown area where our waiter  spoke poor English (on-top of it being his first week working there).

Next, we walked through the National Gallery where we saw some awesome  artwork (for free!). Some of our favorites were : Turner, Monet, Van Gough, Cezanne, Pissaro, Degas, Sisley, and Manet. We stopped at a Sainsburry’s (grocery store) to pick up some things for dinner as well as for breakfast and lunch the next day.
