I get spam. Not that much, thanks to Bayes’ theorem, but enough. Some even makes it past Gmail’s filters.
I get forwarded mail from several different aliases at work (that the spammers have found on our website) and I’ve noticed recently that I’ll get several spam messages seconds apart with slightly different titles and content.
It appears that spammers have adopted A/B testing!
Here is a brief comparison of two spam e-mails I received seconds apart:
From e-mail | From name | Subject |
---|---|---|
Matthews_@serviceseye.com | Burn Fat like a Furnace | DocOz: Rules for getting fit fast |
Tanner@serviceseye.com | Burn Fat 24/7 | DocOz Episode: Conquer Belly Bulge |
The message bodies of the two e-mails were virtually identical.
It’s a brave new world.
